  • Reputation: 39% of prospects say that when choosing a school, the reputation of the school matters.

  • Speed: 31% of prospects say they’ll choose a school that offers a faster pathway to a degree over a “slower” school.

  • Blended: 28% of prospects say they’ll consider a school that offers at least some “blended learning.”

  • Proximity: Oddly enough, even students considering a fully online experience (21%) say proximity to home matters.

  • Acceptance Rate: 21% of prospective online students say “favorable admissions requirements” matter to them. They want to be assured of acceptance.
  • Instruction: One in five prospective students cite “quality of the faculty” as a strong consideration before enrolling.
  • Values: 17% of prospective students will consider an online college if the school’s values and culture match theirs.
  • Interaction:16% of prospective students say “positive interactions with school staff” can make a big difference in enrollment choices.
  • Name recognition: Only 16% of prospects say “familiarity with the school” matters to them when it comes to decision time.
