New Survey Reveals Insights… Directly from Online College Students

As an institution of higher education, you know the best information about your current and prospective students, especially their true feelings, doesn’t come from hypotheticals or assumptions…

It comes directly from college students themselves. Today, CMG will share the recent survey results from Inside Higher Ed[1] that offers you that very information. Information you can use to better attract new online students to your school.

Six Things Revealed by Online College Students

  1. Online students highly rate the quality of their education, but just 31% of them have good or excellent feelings of “belonging.”
  • Online college students, not so surprisingly, want/need more affordable tuition and they want/need fewer, less intense exams.
  • Online college students like learning online but want to learn at their availability, preferring asynchronous courses to live ones.
  •  Like all students, online or in-person, stress is reported as an impediment to academic success.
  • Just 21% of online college students say extra-curricular activities are important for college success.
  • Online students want more career support. Just 21 percent say their school’s career center has sufficient online resources.

By knowing how online college students really feel, you can adjust your school’s methods, courses, and career-support opportunities to better suit their needs.

Because, to put it simply, happy, successful students can be a great new- student recruitment tool!
