These Are the “Difference Maker” Majors That Prospective Students Are Looking For

Yes, college enrollment, especially for recently graduated high school students, has been trending down.

But even with the demographic cliff upon us, there is an increasing interest in at least five degree types that now have prospective students, especially recent high school grads, really considering enrolling in college.

What’s better, if you offer these programs fully online, and have partnerships in place to help enroll these new students, you could be sitting on a real difference maker.

Now, as we explained in previous messages to you, chances are that if you operate a primarily online institution, you’ve been heavily marketing your school and its programs to the adult learner demographic.

We noted how targeting this demographic has been widely successful for many online institutions, since adult learners are very keen on advancing their careers by way of a flexible education.

But we also recently highlighted a poll showing the younger demo is now really taking notice of online college opportunities.

In fact, that poll showed 90% of people aged 18-24 are considering enrolling in an online program.[1]

And we suggested you target that demo, because of it.

But we didn’t, at the time, fully cover which majors/programs they really want. Today, we will.

So, let’s get to them…

We’ll start with the programs that are losing favorability among recent high school grads. Because what is going out of favor is just as important as what’s coming in.

According to data from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center[2]

Liberal arts and sciences, general studies and humanities have seen enrollment declines of 8%.

English language and literature have seen a 5% decline.

Security and protective services are down 3.3%.

Social sciences down 2.7%…

And education is down 1.2%.

Now, what are the areas of study that are on the rise? The areas of study your online school (if it isn’t already) should consider adding?

Here we go…

Public administration and social service programs: Up 5.8%

Business, management and marketing: Up 7%

Engineering: Up 7.5%

Multi-interdisciplinary studies: Up 8.2%

And…

Computer and information sciences: Up 14%!

Now, the great news about all five of these areas of study is this… They can all be done fully online!

And with more 18-24 year olds (90%) considering online school as an alternative to brick-and-mortar, now’s the time to target this demographic.

But, how exactly?

Well, that’s where Conversion Media Group comes in.

You see, as a national leader in driving online degree program enrollments, we speak to thousands of prospective students of all demos, nearly every single day of the work week.

And by “speaking” with them, we mean it.

We own and operate US-based, Edu-lead gen focused contact centers. Contact centers whose highly trained agents verbally communicate with prospective students to learn what it is that they really want in an education.

Live Transfer Leads, the Real Difference Maker

Live transfers are prospective students we have on the phone (live) who are interested in your programs. We curate and nurture these “leads” through various digital marketing efforts long before we physically speak with them.

But the main point for you is this…

The moment these prospects are ready to take the next step and potentially commit to your school, we can transfer the call (while they’re still on the phone) directly to your enrollment representatives.

Now get this…

We could possibly increase your enrollments by 50, 100, 1,000 new students or more. It all depends on how many new student enrollments you’re looking for… and how quickly you’re looking for them.

Enrollment initiatives are our expertise.

Of course, this all sounds simple, but it’s a bit more complicated than that. On our end, that is.

But for you it’s simple. Very simple.

Just give us a call at: (+1) 800 419 3201 and we’ll explain how it all works.

Or you can contact us HERE, and an enrollment expert will get back with you ASAP.
